SMPlayer unreliable with DVD subtitles :(

Hello.

I have been using the SMPlayer video player lately. It's a good program, but it works unreliably with DVDs. One thing is that it can't find the DVD menus, which, as far as I understand, is a failing of the underlying MPlayer.

A more serious problem for me is that it sometimes fails to find the subtitles. The menu "Subtitles -> Select" shows no available subtitle tracks. (The DVD does have subs, and they work fine in Kaffeine.)

Can this problem be solved? Does anyone know?

Thanks in advance.

Could you copy the mplayer log (options->view logs) when you try to play a dvd which doesn't show subs?

The problem is that mplayer prints the info about the subtitles once the movie has started to play, while smplayer expects it before.

It's a known problem and I'll try to fix it soon.

Sounds good. I'll try to keep an eye out, then.

Keep it up. SMPlayer is a good player.
