OpenLDAP

It seems to me that the openldap rpm is not adapted to Fedora. It places files in a very strange way. Is there any one who knows anything about that?

It bothers me because I can not find any document on how to configure the server.

You have the openldap-servers package installed, right?

Red Hat sometimes builds things differently, like the Apache web root at /var/www.

Moved to Servers forum.

Please post your configuration files, and describe the process.

Basically I follow two sets of howto, some for Samba/LDAP PDC and some for straight Unix auth:

PDC:
1. http://samba.idealx.org/smbldap-howto.en.html
2. http://FedoraNEWS.ORG/ghenry/ldap (needs to be updated)

Auth:
1. http://www.xenos.net/library/ldapauth.html
2. http://linsec.ca/bin/view/Main/OpenLDAPAuth

Number 1 of Auth is the best one for Fedora, just use your common sense for bits to change and miss out.
