eclipse startup problem

Hi,
I have a fresh fedora 8 installation with Eclipse. However, when I try to startup eclispe, I get the following error message

An error has occurred. See the log file
/home/gkamendje/.eclipse/org.eclipse.platform_3.3.0_1543616141/configuration/1207052861035.log.

Attached is the log file.

It seems that eclipse is looking for some plug ins. I am not very familiar with eclipse and I have no clue on where to start. I made a search on google with the first error message but I could not find any relevant info on the topic.
Thanks for any hint.
Guy

What version of Java are you using?

Just type in terminal:
Code:
java -version
In my case I do use Sun Java 1.5.0 and clean installation of Fedora Eclipse works perfectly:
Code:
[rpavlyuk@opera ~]$ java -version
java version "1.5.0_12"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_12-b04)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 1.5.0_12-b04, mixed mode)

Hm... Now we have to determine what problem do we have - is that a problem with JVM or with Eclipse installation

Please, do the following. Download latest cross-platform Eclipse package from http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/ and unpack to some folder, for example to /opt/eclipse. Then try to start the Eclipse SDK from just inpacked /opt/eclipse

BTW, I've been never trying to launch Fedora Eclipse on IcedTea so I'm interesting as well how to get it working

The problem seems to be an Eclipse Installation problem. I have donwloaded Eclipse from Eclipse.org and I am able to run it from another directory.
