Boot stops at sendmail

Hello

I am (was) working with FC8 and KDE desktop.

Since a couple of days ago I am experiencing the following problem: when I boot the computer the process starts as usual, but it suddendly stops-
I press the "details" button and I see that the system is waiting to activate 'sendmail'
After waiting a long time and nothing happening I must shut down the machine.
I have tried to fix the problem using a rescue disk and changing DAEMON=YES to DAEMON=NO in the sendmail file in the sysconfig directory. However it has not fixed anything.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

We were just having a discussion about this: sendmail on x86_64 takes something like three minutes to clear boot. http://forums.fedoraforum.org/forum/...d.php?t=184656

I changed my computer's hostname (it was "localhost.localdomain"). A side effect was that sendmail and sm_client started taking minutes (instead of moments) to start up.

That sounds very much like a problem with DNS resolving.
