memory return

does fedora need any form of memory return?

such as returning used memory to the memory pool, or something of that nature?

an odd question i know, just wondering

Linux in general allocate all your available physical ram, and it will always return used memory once application is closed

If you are talking permanent storage, like a hard drive, deleting is immediate. If you are running a desktop environment like Gnome or KDE it moves stuff to the trash before you delete it.
