Starcraft cedega 6.0.3 freeze

hi,
I've recently installed cedega and was hoping to play some warcraft III and starcraft on battlenet. Warcraft III works great but starcraft(broodwar) freezes during single player and battlenet play. During battlenet play it freezes in the menus and during the game, while in the single player it only freezes during gameplay(both with cd in use and without cd, using the newest update for no cd play). It turns into a deep freeze and the only way i know how to get out of it is ctrl+alt+backspace. Because of this I can't get an error message from the console. I need help with two things:

1) If anyone knows or has had this problem with the game then any advice that would be great.
2) if this problem is not known could someone tell me how to trouble shoot it. I'm not the best with console commands and last time I tried to used the kill command it didn't do anything.

here are my specs:

running on fedora core 8 on the newest kernel updated 3-17-08(the one that fixed my dri problem), maybe 2.6.24.32. i dont know and have forgot how to look it up on the console.
video card: intel corporation mobile 945gm/gms, 943/940gml express integrated graphics contoller

sound card: intel corporation 82801g

network: intel 3945abg

thanks for any help.

Usually freezes are because the program was compiled against older libraries. Can you download the game source and compile it yourself?

Please re-read the OP's post. He is talking about Starcraft, and Cedega, he can't get the source for either of those.

However, I'd try to run the game with regular Wine, though Battlenet in SC doesn't work very well in regular Wine.

i have tried wine and battlenet won't even load there. I have the same problem as well in wine, a freeze that requires me to logout. At least in cedega i can log in and play about half a game before it freezes.

similar issue

Hey everyone. I also play starcraft in cedega. I noticed it works fine in my pc until i installed both cedega and wine. After i did that starcraft freezes during game play. Also if i do run starcraft only on wine, it runs terrible. Very laggy and unstable. Any ideas why?? Any aditional moddy required?
