Graphics card..Siemens Amilo pro

Dear all,

i am having a problem with my siemens amilo pro laptop
there is something wrong with the graphics card..the chipset is a via (which is not good ! )

i searched a lot but i never found a good solution

i tried system-config-display but all what i am getting is weird coulors going up and down the screen

any idea?

I've neer had a chance to play with that card you have but:

have you tried setting the driver to vesa? That used to work a lot for me. No 3d accell of course but it's worth a start.

Also another way you could do is to get a Fedora live cd, boot from that and if you see it boot up on X, look at the config file, save it to a usb or off the network and use that.
