error: failed dependency on mysql update FC2

Hello
Newbie here. Was updating as per instructions from http://fedoranews.org/contributors/tony_smith/mysql/

after having removed failed dependecies, and doing rpm -Uvh mysql-server-4.0.17-0.i386.rpm, get error message saying
error: Failed dependencies:
libmysqlclient.so.10 is needed by (installed) perl-DBD-MySQL-2.9003-4

what to do now? Does anyone have instructions for newbie here who has little technical savvy?

Thanks in advance

do
Code:
rpm -e perl-DBD-MySQL
as you probably don't need the perl package.

try
Code:
apt-get remove mysql
then say no when it asks. But post the messages here.
