iPhone to get iPlayer before iLinux!

There's been a lot of complaining from Mac/Linux users that the BBC's iPlayer doesn't support Linux/Mac's, and the BBC have been moaning on about how it's "in developement" and will be available in a few decades.

Didn't stop them hesitating to bring it to the iPhone though: article.

Somehow I suspect there are slightly more Linux users out there than iPhone users, maybe Red Hat, Novell, IBM etc. bribing the BBC is the only way we'll ever get our version.

For now, I'll stick with me torrents.

On a side note, apparently it uses RealPlayer, has anybody tried playing content from them? I might give it a go after work.

yeah i really don't care about iplayer, the torrents are better quality anyway!

but there's already a way to fudge the useragent string in firefox to download the iplayer content, which is supposed to be an h264 avi file, not realplayer rubbish.

and yeah, obviously steve jobs paid them enough to make it work on the iphone.

It's kind of funny the cycle the Wib goes through with iDevelopment. Each of us says the same thing we said last time.

Keeping in the tradition:

If you buy iAnything, you deserve what you get for being an iSheep.

thanks,

Agreed, although all the publicity it gets gives me a rash, that could constitute caring.

Holy cow. I was expecting something bad with a name like that, but I wasn't prepared for that.

I'll be back soon. I gotta go buy some rattle-can paint.

thanks,
