KDE Keyboard Layout

I have found that I have to reset the keyboard layout every time I reboot and frequently when I start a new session. I have a logitech cordless mouse and keyboard. In order to function reasonably well I have set the keyboard layout to Itouch cordless keyboard. It doesn't seem to keep this setting. It still says Itouch cordless but I then have to select another layout, apply it and then switch back to make it work.

I have the logitech cordless mx duo elite ( i think) .

How can I solve this annoying but mostly harmless annoyance?
