F8 Random Reboots

Hi,

I have an ASUS/AMD dual core/ATI (integrated video card) desktop running F8. I have been having random reboots ever since I installed F8. I never had any thing like this with FC4 or 6.

My system var/log says this before going down

Unknown OutputIN= OUT=vmnet8 SRC=xxx.xx.xx.x DST=172.16.89.255 LEN=193 TOS=0x00 PREC=0x00 TTL=64 ID=0 DF PROTO=UDP SPT=631 DPT=631 LEN=173
Unknown OutputIN= OUT=vmnet1 SRC=xxx.xxx.xx.x DST=192.168.31.255 LEN=194 TOS=0x00 PREC=0x00 TTL=64 ID=0 DF PROTO=UDP SPT=631 DPT=631 LEN=174

And this list goes on and on and is still being generated in the var/log. I know VMNET1 and 8 from from vmware player I have.

I have no clue why the random reboots are happening. I ran the memtest for 12 hrs and the RAM stick has no errors. DIsk check is also ok.

Please help . THis is driving me nuts.

Any comments/suggestions are appreciated.

THanks
Jimmy

I had that problem for a while on an old inspiron 5100, I put windows back and sent it for repair, they replaced the mobo and when f6 got back onto it, worked fine. Random reboots are usually hardware related since a software one would usually just freeze your machine or at least throw something onto the screen.

IMHO, I don't think those IPtables have anything to do with your random reboots. You just have something trying to contact some printing service it seems since 631 is for ipp.

I can relate to this. I had a brand new dell 1720 which rebooted on its own. I even had to send it back to them. They did what they did but when I recieved it back it continued to reboot on its own. They finally replaced the laptop and have not had a reboot on its own since.
