Developing the Linux Embedded GUI Application using GTK

Is it possible to bulid Linux Embedded GUI Apps using GTK?

I'm just wondering if GTK can do the trick and what's the popular tools to do embedded programming based on Linux.

Any info or articles would be greatly appreciated.
