Unhappy Incomplete Task bar in root

Hi All,
I've just re-installed Fedora 7 ,same desktop box I have been using with this distro for months.Only difference is a new broardband modem.
Everything is fine in normal use,but when I log into root the task bar does not show "Applications / Places / System " . I have the normal array of icons for presentation, evolution etc plus my user name ,time and volume control in the upper left hand corner.however ,without being able to get to Applications etc, I'm a bit stuck.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Just add it back.

Just right click and choose "Add to panel..."

Then add the "Menu Bar" applet back to the top panel and move it back into the left corner.

Thank you , thank you , thank you. Seemingly simple I know , but a function I've used that little that I had forgotten about it.
Thanks for saving me heaps of time fossicking around.
Cheers
Gaspode.

Believe I learned myself the hard way. I once deleted my entire upper panel and I have a whole line up of customised icon launchers, some with custom scripts on that panel. I recreate it every fresh install, but that about how often I want to deal with that!

You should check out pessulus in the repos. It has a "lock panel" feature that allows your panels to pretty much stay fixed to prevent random inappropriate "mouse clicks" from ruining your day!
