Have to re-enable desktop effects after each reboot

Running Fedora Core 8 on T60 (x1400 GPU).
Compiz is running fine, but after every reboot, I manually have to to System->Preferences->Look and Feel->Desktop Effects and re-enable the effects.

Anyone encountered that before?
do i need to actually run the desktop-effects command with some flag on rcd.5 ?

Thanks.

Try running fusion-icon instead of desktop effects. Use ALT/F2 to run it. Should work better. You can add it or desktop effects to the startup pool by selecting System > Preferences > Personal > Sessions.

compiz icon

Same thing with the compiz-fusion icon. The personnel-sessions window does not have compiz-fusion listed here on fedora 8. I use system tools to click the icon, runs good. Ok with me,but, if I don't click the icon no effects, use only scale option anyway.

If you look at the personnel-sessions window there is a option called "add" , try using it

name = fusion-icon

command = fusion-icon

Thanks, again, glennzo and leigh123@linux.
Adding fusion-icon to the "sessions" solved it. (btw, where are all these options stored? I mean, these are no init.d type scripts).

One thing thought, could be just me, but fusion-icon works slower then when using the "Enable desktop-effects".
If you click on a program from the "File Browser" module from awn, it takes much longer time for each file to open.
