Arrow Video & Image Manipulation

This is a pretty broad question because I am not really sure where to start. I am wanting to do some video editing and image manipulation. I have used GIMP a little bit and am confident that I can learn it for the still image side of it, but I am unsure of what to use for video editing or even where to start. Does anybody have a suggestion of where to start? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kino, Avidemux and Cinlerra (for more professional stuff) are probably your best options. Just a word of the wise on Gimp as well, it may take some time to learn, but trust me, GIMP is very powerful and a great program once you get the hang of it.

Thank you for the advice. Is Cinlerra in any of the Fedora Repo's, I seem to be having trouble finding it.

Well it would certainly help if i could spell correctly, but it's also availible via freshrpms repos. Remember to not mix freshrpms repo with livna. Enable it only for this. http://werewolf.freshrpms.net/rpm.html?id=415
