Can't upgrade from Fedora 7->8, installation stalls

I'm trying to upgrade Fedora 7 to Fedora 8 on a Dell laptop. I select the option to upgrade the existing Fedora partition and create a new bootloader, and then the process gets stuck at: Checking dependencies in packages selected for installation

However the progress bar seems to get to 99% completion.

Could anyone offer any suggestions? Thank you.

Thanks very much Seve. I entered the extra "updates=http://katzj.fedorapeople.org/updates-f8-yumloop.img" parameter in the kernel command line and it worked.
