FC8: Amarok and Xine

I'm having trouble using Amarok on a new FC8 install. It won't play MP3s, saying the Xine libraries don't support MP3s. However, I can play MP3s in Xine with no trouble. I don't have KDE installed, which I usually do. Could that be a problem? Also, this is an x64 machine. Could that be a problem?

Hopefully you've got Livna in your /etc/yum.repos.d You'll need it to get 3rd. party packages to do mp3's and non-free codecs. Since you've got Xine working, I'm sure you do.

Try "yum install amarok-extras-nonfree" but be prepared to add a bunch of KDE packages as well.

I'm afraid that's not it. In fc8, amarok-extras-nonfree is just a placeholder that requires xine-libs-nonfree. xine-libs-nonfree is installed (so is amarok-extras-nonfree, though it's just a readme file explaining that it's a placeholder). The Xine player can play mp3s. I think that puts the problem as being something about Amarok not talking to Xine, but I have no idea why that would be.
