setting up a gamepad

I'm trying to use a Logitech Precision USB gamepad with ZSNES but it's not working. I've tried:

Code:
su-
 modprobe adi
but it's not working. is there some other driver i need to load?

usually it would be /dev/js0 or /dev/input/js0 and you could test with jstest /dev/js0.

Does dmesg say anything when you plug it in, what about /var/log/messages.

IS it listed under lsusb?

i don't have jstest nor could i install it with yum...(?) as far as dmesg is concerned...i'm not sure what to look for. it is NOT listed when i use lsusb, and /var/log/messages seems to show some type of error but i'm not sure what it is, here's the output of /var/log/messages (truncated):

It doesn't show under lsusb? That's not good. Does /dev/js0 exist? Try 'dd if=/dev/js0 | hexdump', press loads of buttons or move the analog stick around for a while. If it produces any output you might be lucky.

It's a no go, it says /dev/js0 does not exist and exits. I just don't get it, it works fine on my laptop (Fedora 8 x86_64).
