FC8 LiveDVD respin boot issues

hey, I've finally got enough motivation to work on getting my linux machine working again. This time I'm wanting to get FC8 running. I got the x86 games respin downloaded and burned to DVD, found at the download link here. Its got some problems though. First I noticed every LiveCD and LiveDVD and maybe any other linux OS complains about a BIOS error. No PSB or ACPI _PSS objects. I fixed that by turning on AMD Cool'n'Quiet. So now it doesn't complain about that. However, it still displays a glitchy-looking boot sequence, and it just sits there with the optical drive activity light on. Can anyone provide guidance on how to get FC8 working properly? Also, here's my specs if it'll help my troubleshooting:

MSI K8NGM2-NBP (Socket 939)
AMD FX-55 2.6Ghz(San Diego)
1GB OCZ DDR500(underclocked to 325mhz for some reason)
256MB Geforce 7800GT OC (BFG Tech)
Soundblaster Audigy SE

Interesting. I'm posting this on my windows games rig, running the same Live DVD. I wish it weren't hardware issues, or an AMD issue. I always trusted AMD before for real PC performance. Before I built this machine, anyway...can it be an nVidia problem?

I'll take a stab at this request.... Does the MB have built-in video? If it does and the BIOS is set to 'auto' for video, Fedora 8 might be selecting the wrong video port. If I read your message properly, you are saying that a F8 Live CD boots ok on one machine, but acts weird on the other one. Is that correct?
