Frankly, this is not something that you want to do unless you're 1). quite experienced 2). willing to put up with a lot of breakage and an immense amounts of updates. I've already lost the internet completely (fixed now). While we need testers, I'd think that dual-booting a stable version of Fedora and the testing version would be the better solution.

I did it successfully from 7 to 8. I had a few problems a few weeks ago, trying to do it on a sacrificial machine, but that was a few weeks ago.

I think Bob described it pretty well. It probably won't be trivial. Then again, you might be the lucky one and it might turn out be no more difficult than a normal upgrade.

There are instructions somewhere on Fedora's pages about the best way to do it if you're going to do it. (They do recommend against it though).

Hi

http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Testing has some notes on doing this. Alpha is for testers only however.

Fedora forum doesn't support development releases so if you upgrade you will not get any help from this forum!!

I had a similar experience to yours on the Alpha installation disk. However, I was able to boot a live CD and use that to make an installation.

At present, after a few upgrades, just about everything works well save for sound. Any music I play is silent for the first three or four seconds, regardless of what player I'm using. However, even that might be due to some oddity during installation, as, on several installs, I've had one strange thing or another occur that wasn't repeatable.
