I've not tried it with samba-openldap, but I am currently trying to use samba-fedora directory server (fds is another ldap server) and have had some success integrating the two.

The area that I am currently working on now is testing the setup: I am not entirely certain how I want to add the users to the LDAP directory and also how I want to access them from Windows. The pGina module looks interesting, but I have had success logging into a samba/DNS/winbind PDC using native XP.

The discussion continues, if only with myself.

I am trying to do something similar... I have a windows server 2003 acting as the PDC right now, but I want to add a Fedora/FDS server to provide file storage for the users (the windows 2003 machine can't do this task due to other duties it has and limited space). I have fedora and the fedora-ds installed, and I can use the admin console... but I have no idea how to integrate it into the domain that exists. Anybody have a link to a good guide for this?

Thumbs up

Hi,

I think this is what you are looking for: http://directory.fedoraproject.org/wiki/Howto:Samba

Just have a look at Fedora DS documentation. Samba, squid, PDC integration.

I hope it helped.

I'll take a try to do it by myself and I'll let you know how it goes.
I've been thinking to do it since I saw it but it seems like not easy. (more than 3 click)

Cheers

Laszlo
