Exactly! That´s why I´ve adopted the framework style to do it. easyLife already comes in english, portuguese_BR, portuguse_PT and spanish. Other languages are very welcome! If there are any translators around, please tell me! It´s really easy to translate it (just one text file, nothing else).

That would be really great for many reasons

No no.. In order to make the easyLife rpm package small, the program downloads the needed stuff from the internet on the way. You may take a look at the source code to see that. By default, it erases the suff it downloads so your system remains clean. The main priority about easyLife is to not mess your system up and to be simple as possible.

Anyway, your suggestion is nice and we could build to versions. One that downloads stuff (smaller) and one that already comes with stuff (bigger). As soon as I get enough bandwidth to provide larger easyLife rpm packages, I´ll do that.

one thing though, there was a mention of Area de Trabalho and i have no clue what that is so i have left it there, if you explain to me what it is i can tell how that line needs to be altered

About the "Area de Tarabalho", it´s the name of the Desktop folder. In pt_BR, it´s called "Area de Trabalho" and some poor programs have trouble with that, because they look for the "Desktop" folder, and not the "Area de trabalho" (or other name) folder.

Programs well written do not have that problem, because they investigate the proper system files in order to discover what the desktop folder name is and do stuff from there.

So, basically, we would just need to know what is the desktop folder name is Dutch? I´ll add it to the translation and do the proper programming changes.

easyLife is now avaiable for both i386 and x86_64. One RPM for them all.

Its source code is also available now via cvs.

Gee guys been following this thread...going to test it today and if possible I would put in my bit into translating it...maybe in to Tamil and Hindi-anyone heard of those

BTW have a long list of people who would really like to use any OS that has the easiest way to get set and start typing in their native languages. I have tried this with both Ubuntu and FC and FC was by far the easiest in this area-SCIM requires some weird workarounds in Ubuntu to make it work with all progs, where as its all set and ready in FC.

Thanks for the script man, been thinking of reinstalling my box for some time, will do that sooner..great work.
