Exclamation KDE Control Panel won't allow Administrator mode

I've a new system that I just loaded with Fedora 8. I've had a number of other Fedora servers but they were all Fedora 3 and Fedora 4.

I've had no KDE problems with any Fedora, but with this new install (not an upgrade) when I type in the password for Administrator mode, "Loading" appears and nothing further happens. The control panel isn't locked up, because I can go to other tabs/screens in the Control Panel. But, no Administrator mode. I've all up to date on fedora updates.

Anyone point me to a resolution?

I've seen this problem before on Ubuntu as well. The only solution I ever found was to reboot

Hello:

You are not alone...http://forum.fedoraforum.org/forum/s...d.php?t=180311

Work-around: open a terminal and command: kdesu kcontrol. Requires root password.

Regards,
V
