Ok, so I seem to be having an issue with Totem. During a seemingly normal session, I rebooted my system to move into the updated kernel (delayed it for a few days since I was busy with work). And so after the update, Totem doesn't seem to like all of my .mkv movies... After a few days of investigation here is what I found.
- First off, video wise this only happens with my .mkv files... the video is fine but there is no audio
- Second, I get no sound from all files that happen to be encoded in Vorbis... this includes OGG's and my movies (all the audio streams in the .mkv's are encoded in vorbis)
- Third, this is solely with totem-xine and xine. VLC is fine, Rhythmbox plays my audio OGG's ... so I can rule out something up with gstreamer (I think)
- Fourly, and weirdly... I can't seem to get any stream information on effected files in Gnome (it reads as if there no audio stream in the files, but when I boot up VLC... I get that information via the stats profile.)
Help, please?
