When installation was complete, it asked me to reboot but it froze and didnt really reboot so I had to turn it off manually. Maybe that was the cause of the problem. I might install it again and try.
You mean after installation, it doesnt take you into the bootloader?
Any ideas where I am going wrong?

I believe I had to manually reboot after install, too. That is OK.

Yes, after installing it takes me to the kboot prompt, and after a few moments it proceeds to load Fedora 7 with no interaction from me ... which bootloader did you install? In other words, where did you get your otheros.bld file?

The bootloader I have is from http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/ker...ple/geoff/cell/
Then from that webpage I went to the link, [ps3-kboot/] -> [kboot-20071220.bld]
That file is 2.31MB.
Is the bootloader right?

I don't know if that is the same as what is suggested in this guide. See the section labeled "Get the bootloader"? There's a direct link to it.

No... "wired" networking normally works fine for the PS3 "out of the box" on Fedora 7.

For wireless, 64 and 128 Bit WEP are supported. Some users have reported success getting WPA-PSK working as described in this blog post. I haven't see a guide written specifically for Fedora 7 PPC wireless setup on the PS3, but the process is very similar to how it's done with Yellow Dog Linux. See the tutorials from Terrasoft Solutions here:

ok type this in glxinfo and if it sais you have direct rendering go to this link.

http://forums.fedoraforum.org/forum/...=compiz-fusion

its a link for compiz. use compiz and not beryl cause compiz is more stable.

@F.User_4_Life - No, we don't have direct rendering on the PS3, so none of that will work.

@Bullwinkle - What sort of applications are you looking for? Have you added the livna and dribble repos as suggested in the guide?
