ATI x1250 F8 no desktop effects

Has this been solved without having to roll back to FC7 files? I mean if I wanted to use FC7 files I would have stayed with that and not upgraded. Every time I search for this it comes back to going back to old file versions. Any ideas?

The only problem with that is as I mentioned in my first post that you have to downgrade to previous versions of files in this case the old version of X that came packaged with FC7.
