I've been using Fedora 8 for some some time now, and since i last did an update, which included a NetworkManager update, I have a living wireless connection but reaching "Internet" hosts is not possible :=S e.g. I can ping my router, i can ping even my ISPs proxy etc, but I cant access any google.com or nothing.
Now, I'm really not sure what's the deal... in XP my internet is all fine. And in Fedora it does show everything is working like it used to. Could the latest NM update make it so I couldn't access the internet even though i'm allowed to access my wireless network???
I'm really pissed as the zd1211 chipset is notoriously known as evil in today's linux software. I've had plenty of trouble with my Edimax USB 7137ug wifi with many other distro's, and were glad to find out that Fedora 8 ran it straight off the cd with NM!
Fedora 8 (not latest kernel, as the latest one kills wifi for me - known bug)
All updated. Had complete running internet and wifi before latest update!
Intel 4 2.4ghz
Edimax Wireless Router Hub
PPPoE on router.
ifconfig and iwconfig both show my wireless connection and show it as fully working, same as NM does. I tried plenty restarts, and "down"-"up" in ifconfig and what not. also tried restarting router, modem etc.
Please HELP :'={
