I asked at the #fedora and came to this far, but the 3D-functions doesn't seem to work.
I have the graphic drivers installed correctly, so question is any idea why?

It might depend on the video hardware. Post info on the card and the driver and version you are using.

I know my card is an nVidia GeForce 7600GT, how do I check driver version?
Also, when I try to enable compiz, it says "Desktop Effects could not be enabled." in a little bubble in the top left corner.

Worth noting: other OpenGL 3D applications, such as BZFlag, works. (Just tested... ^^)mo/

You have nvidia's driver installed then? kmod-nvidia from livna or did you use the .run file from nvidia directly? I prefer the kmod-nvidia from livna.

I have the kmod-nvidia installed. Yes, out of the livna repo.
EDIT: Now I removed all my old compiz things, and reinstalled, this time as suggested by http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=171130 . Still same error, though.

What does this output.
Code:
glxinfo | grep "direct rendering:"
Have you started fusion-icon?
EDIT: Did you wipe your compiz config files before installing leigh's packages?

Your command gives, "Direct rendering: Yes".
No, I do not think I've started fusion-icon. Not consciously (sp?) at least.
And, yes, I did remove the old compiz config files.
EDIT: When trying to start fusion-icon X shuts down but nothing starts up anew...

Out of curiosity, I tried logging in with Gnome as interface, and in Gnome compiz seems to work well. Does that give any clue?

The two first I have got, but not the last i think... :/
I have installed it now, but I removed the 'Desktop Effects' menu item through a mistake, what's the command to lauch that one?compizfusionicon
EDIT: Oh, found fusion-icon. Will make a try now.
EDIT2: Point is, it seems like it uses Compiz as window manager but I get no nice effects though they are enabled.
EDIT3: Nothing I try to set i ccsm seems to do any difference.

Hi,
I have the same problem as ikr1sse, but somewhat worse. In my case the 3d effects (cube and the like) don't work under neither gnome or kde (i prefer kde). The 2d effects (wobbly windows) work perfectly I would say.
I should probably mention that I have a ATI X300 video card in a IBM T43 laptop. I use the open radeon drivers (Fedora 8 with the
latest updates) and a custom compiled kernel. I prefer radeon to proprietary ati (either from livna or ati themselves - in each case the libGL.so gets messed up and recovery is equally painfull + downgrading xorg seems to destroy links to fonts - xlsfonts can only find very few of them). I've tried to build rpms for the ati driver from ati sources but it crashes (some error in the spec file, know how to correct it but don't know how to recreate the self extracting/compiling archive).
As far as I can tell DRI is working, since I get this result by typing glxinfo (see below). The lower part worries me a bit though (Slow/None entries), but to be honest I have no clue what it means. Any sugestions are appreciated.
