Misbehaving Alacarte "Main Menu" editor

What is up with this thing? I remember editing the menus, adding subfolders, and tidying up in general when I used Fedora Core 6. Now in Fedora 8, TWICE I've deleted launchers for my most used audio programs and players while reorganizing, and I'm not sure how!! I put all the launchers into a subfolder to Audio/Video, deleted the redundant copies, closed the editor, and BAM: nothing. So I painstakingly re-made the launchers, one by one, only for it to happen again! The subfolder doesn't show in the menu, only in the editor.

What's up with that? Anyone else having the same issue, or have any idea what's going wrong here?

The menu you are seeing is probably cached. Alacarte loads the menu manually whenever you open it. Sometimes changes that you make do not show up in the normal menu until something forces the menu to reload. IE: log off/on, reboot, play nexius, etc...

Hmm... I never thought of that. I'll look into it, thanks for the info. =)
