up2date Question

Hi everyone. I'm pretty new to Linux and feeling stuck with up2date running on RHEL at the command line. How would I know what the available packages are when using up2date? For example, I wanted to install Wireshark on my system so I just happened to know I could run "up2date wireshark-gnome" and up2date retrieved everything it needed to install.

Assume there is something I want to install and I try "up2date putty" and up2date cannot find it, but maybe it really is available and I'm entering the wrong name. Is there some place I can go to see a master list of what can be installed? Since I'm using RHEL I thought this would be on Red Hat's web site, but even after logging in I couldn't find anything.

Thanks,
-d

You might want to switch to using yum and yumex (graphical). They are much easier to use than up2date and is the direction RHEL is moving to. For reference:

Good Luck
