CentOS 5

My brother has installed CentOS 5 on his computer. I want to get it working with the Fedora Yum repository. How is this done?

I wouldn't use fedora packages with CentOS

Try using the karan repo instead

Hi,

If you install the EPEL release package, yum would prompt you for importing the gpg signature. Otherwise you can import it manually using the rpm command. The GPG keys are located in /etc/pki/rpm-gpg folder.

# rpm --import </path/gpgkey>

For Karan try

Code:
su
gedit /etc/yum.repos.d/kb-centos-extras.repo
and add

Code:
# All new packages are now released to the testing repository first
# and only moved into Stable after a period of time
# Note: The testing repository is disabled by default

[kbs-CentOS-Extras]
name=CentOS.Karan.Org-EL$releasever - Stable
gpgcheck=1
gpgkey=http://centos.karan.org/RPM-GPG-KEY-karan.org.txt
enabled=0
baseurl=http://centos.karan.org/el$releasever/extras/stable/$basearch/RPMS/

[kbs-CentOS-Testing]
name=CentOS.Karan.Org-EL$releasever - Testing
gpgcheck=1
gpgkey=http://centos.karan.org/RPM-GPG-KEY-karan.org.txt
enabled=1
baseurl=http://centos.karan.org/el$releasever/extras/testing/$basearch/RPMS/
Then run
Code:
su -
rpm --import http://centos.karan.org/RPM-GPG-KEY-karan.org.txt
