Question yum update problem with fedora8

Hi All,

I had just been introduced to linux/fedora7, complete newbie. Within few days fedora8 came out. So I upgraded to fedora 8. Now whenever I am doing "yum - y update" or "yum update package_name", I am getting the following error:::

And I am also copying the output of "yum repolist"

I am sorry if I am repeating the same problem/thread posted by other. Tried to search the Forum, got lost.

Hallo

may be the package database is corrupted. The following command will may fix it:

rpm --rebuilddb
It takes a few minutes.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I tried "rpm --rebuilddb". After that I tried to update. But still having the same problem. Any other way to overcome this problem?

try uninstalling and reinstalling the yelp package. you can do that in the Package manager search option

Hi Bharath,
Thanks. After checking with Package Manager, I saw that two versions of yelp (fc7 and fc8) were there. I removed the yelp fc7 version and update is running smoothly. Thanks once again.
