KDE Desktop Won't Load in Fedora8

Hi All,

I fairly new to this forum and to Fedora itself. I have a brand new installation of Fedora 8 and the KDE desktop won't load. When I go to log in using any account it goes through the KDE splash screen with no problems, but it's just a blank blue background. The only thing that does pop up is the automatic updates telling me how many I have.

I don't recall doing any major software changes or updates before this happened. The only thing I can tell you before this all happened; is that I had shutdown the system as normal. It went part way through it's normal shutdown procedure until I noticed that I had a black screen with a black cursor. I left it like that for about 15 minutes so it could get it's act together until I just did a hard shutdown and now I'm faced with the problem above.

Try to login as another user or root
or
Loin in genome Just delete /home/.kde directory and try restart the system.

I have already logged in as multiple users and none of them worked including root.

I don't have Gnome installed and that directory (/home/.kde) doesn't exist for me to delete.

It may be file system error
Shutdown the system with force e2fsck option on next boot.
#shutdown -F -t 2 secs
