Two quad core processors, only 4 processors in cpuinfo

Hello there,

I am quite new to Fedora, and just did a fresh install on our new server: it has two quad core processors, 8 GB RAM, quite a powerful thingy...
Installed a fresh download of Fedora 8, did an install of the "2.6.23.8-63.fc8PAE" kernel which is running now.

When looking in the system monitor of Gnome, it only gives information on four processors, cpuinfo tells us this:

Code:

I was expecting eight processors, or maybe two, but not four...
Can someone tell me if both processors are active, am I overlooking something, or did I mis some installation steps?

thanks in advance, best regards,
Frank

The Xeon 5110 isn't a quad core part. It's a dual core.

2x dual core is exactly what cpuinfo is reporting.

What info do you have that they are quad core?

Cheers

Duncan
