Snap shot

I recall having used a program with which I could take snap shots of whole or parts of the screen with FC6. (This is something similar to Windows Snag-it, Faststone Capture)

With FC8, I am not able to find such a program. I am willing to install one if you point me to a good program.

Thank you for your help in advance.

Hmmm... in my Fedora8 (Gnome), I find it under Applications > Accessories > "Take Screenshot". I don't recall installing this as an 'extra'.

I saw that too, but you use it to take screen shots of the entire screen.

Thank you for your reply anyway.

If you have nothing against using kde apps in gnome then ksnapshot is a wonderful tool that will do what you want.

Note also it has a timer hidden under the area window i have open. You might have to look for the package though, it comes in a bundle of other kde apps. Let me know if yolu are interested and I can find the package for you.

edit: BTW, the gnome tool lets you take a screenshot of just the current window?

I don't mind it at all. In fact, ksnapshot is the one I used to use with FC6, but I can't find it among KDE applications in FC8. Please let me know how I install it onto the Genome desktop.

Thanks.
