Neverwinter Nights doesn't work in F8
Apparently due to XCB (AKA XLib) and lock. I'm not sure what the problem might be, but I get this every time I try to launch it:
Code:
nwmain: xcb_xlib.c:50: xcb_xlib_unlock: Assertion `c->xlib.lock' failed.
/usr/local/bin/nwn: line 32: 7885 Aborted ./nwmain $@
Not even using LIBXCB_ALLOW_SLOPPY_LOCK=1 works, so I don't know what to do. BTW I'm trying to run this 32-bit game on 64-bit Fedora (has never before had a problem, until recently with F8, though).

Are you using the internal nwn SDL, or the system SDL?

Internal, will try system-wide, but I remember running into problems with some other deps (mixer, and others, which were not available for as i386 for 64-bit Fedora)
Edit
Thanks a lot for the suggestion. It now all works again just fine.

So, a question for you. I went through the whole process of installing and patching NWN and its two expansions (SoU and HotU), and I noticed that there weren't visible robes or visible cloaks. Do you have these (if it's fully patched)? Or is it yet another half-assed port with less-than-Windows functionality?

I have the fully patched version (up to 1.68, anyway) and I do have robes and cloacks

Hmm... That's a chin-scratcher. WOnder why I was missing them. In any event, I haven't reinstalled it since because I was missing them and just figured it was some weak half-assed port as I mentioned above. Guess I'll try it again.

Actually NWN is one of the best ports of a Windows game to Linux I have ever seen. Pitty, though that they couldn't ship the movies in a more convenient format, or convert them altogether, but a minor issue. The game itself is incredibly ported.
