Remote Desktop setup with gdmsetup

I am having a quarky proboblem with Fedora 8 and enabling remote in gdmsetup. I am able to enble remote and I am using x-win32 to make a xdmcp connection to get a remtoe desktop. I am able to login with either root or a particular user and get either a background image or whatever I have configured. The issue is that I never get any menu items or the title bar.

I have done the same config in fedora 7 without any issues, but not being the most knowledgable about remote xdmcp connections, I am at a loss as to why I dont get any menu items or desktop icons. I have looked in the message logs, selinux and all appears to be normal. What realy gets me, is I am able to make the connection and see the desktop without any items or menu bars.

any suggestions as to where I can start looking for my issue, or is this maybe a known problem and my search abilities are not good enough to find what I am looking for.

Same to me, but If you wait a long time (about 10 Minutes) the menu bars appears.
