FC7 Live CD hangs after about 10-15 minutes

have been trying to install fc7 for most of the holiday weekend. no go! have some screen shots i will put up in another post about that problem.

decided to run live cd and test everything. loads fine. loaded graphical hw viewer & looks like everything is there and no shown problems. but twice the screen has locked up although the mouse is still working, can't get out of it w/o reboot. can anyone make any suggestions on how i can narrow down the problem? i don't have a clue where to start on this. Would like to have it working before i retry to install i.e. conflicts or whatever. any help would be appreciated.
thanks,
