Fedora 8 Installation Problem

Hi, I am having trouble installing Fedora 8 both to my desktop and my labtop.

I am using the dvd x86I iso image provided by the fedora 8 website, burnt to a dvd through "burning image" using nero 8.

However, I was not able to complete the installation.

On my labtop, the installation process will hang once it gets to "Running /sbin/loader"
I do see some module loaded and file system mounted before it.
I also tried to run the installation dvd with my desktop.
THe installation process will hang after the first 3 lines once the installation process begins.
couple lines after the "loading vmlinux...." ( i am not too sure about the spelling)

I tried re-download the iso image, but still the same thing happen..

Can any one help me with this.... I have absolutely no clue why??

I am not an experiensed linux user, but i tried installing FC3, FC4, and FC5 before never encounter any problem like this.

Hello this has happened to alot of people including me, usually if you just go make a cup of tea or have a fag, in about 10 mins it will carry on.(hopefully).

Wait it out does make it work, but still hangs ver frequently.
I guess patience is the first test of becoming linux user><

I tried the "floppy.allowed_drive_mask=0 clocksource=acpi_pm" and it work flawlessly. Bad for me, should have search the forum for it before posting...
