Fedora PPC in the future...

I read somewhere that the PPC port of Fedora is not going to be much of a priority in the future. To bad really, I love it and have been using for the last few weeks on my G4 MDD. Not much of an OSX fan anymore and having a PPC arch I am pretty limited on options.

My question is what determines the userbase? How do they get the stats that tell how many people run PPC linux? Mirror downloads? General community activity on forums and websites?

And the second question, since I might have to move to a different disto what would you recommend? Debain? I tried Yellowdog but it was quite slow.

Hi,

There really is no difference in priority. The same people who care about the release are working on it as usual. The difference is merely in organization. Instead of the release engineering team, there is now a special PPC architecture team that will take care of testing and fixing any issues.

The stats are from http://smolts.org and the community activity in testing, reporting and fixing issues is also an important consideration.
