Hi there,
I have a weird problem with my bluetooth device on my laptop. First, I must say that the bluetooth device is integrated with wireless device, and could be easily turn on/shut off with the so-called kill switch. For the wireless part it's OK, but the bluetooth won't work, unless I do some crazy stuff which I will explain later. Wireless uses iwl4965 driver, and as I mentioned before it works perfectly.
OK, now on bluetooth part. My system won't recognize my bluetooth device, unless I restarted the system onto Windows Vista, then again restart the system onto Fedora 8. In this case, lsusb shows something like this:
Bus 005 Device 002: ID 0930:0508 Toshiba Corp.
With loaded hci_usb module, and of course bluetooth, rfcomm and so on, bluetooth transfer to my mobile phone is OK and uninterrupted.
OK, i turn off my laptop, then back on, boot to Fedora directly, and bluetooth device wasn't found. lsusb in this case looks like this:
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 04f2:b008 Chicony Electronics Co., Ltd
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 07ca:b808 AVerMedia Technologies, Inc.
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 005 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 046d:c518 Logitech, Inc.
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
As you can see, there is nowhere to be found "Bus 005 Device 002: ID 0930:0508 Toshiba Corp.".
OK, in the hope of miracle, I manually loaded hci_usb module, and of course, nothing happened.
I tried to turn off "the kill switch", and back on, nothing happened.
So, what is wrong with it? Do I have to go to Vista each time, and then restart to Fedora, to Fedora recognize my bluetooth device?
Do I have to mention that pressing Fn + F8 isn't recognized? (Fn + F8 in Windows Vista do four things: 1. Turns on wireless, turns off bluetooth; 2. Turns on bluetooth, turns off wireless; 3. Turns on both wireless and bluetooth; 4. Turns off both wireless and bluetooth)
Thanks in advance to you who is willing to help me with this...
