need help with panel

Hi all.
Need some help with adding my name to panel been trying like hell without
any luck, seen this in screenshots so I know can be done

the top panel.
I think I need to add email client to have my name show up in there.
is this right ?

Right click on the panel, hit add to panel, highlight user switcher (about bottom quarter of list), hit add.
