Re: Autoplus to help install codecs, flash etc...

Ok ok ok, since Dave had asked me to have a look at it (6months+ ago), i will do so within the next 2-4 weeks.
As i just recently learned how to 'handle' src.rpm files (2 weeks ago), i could not have done earlier anyway.
And since i do have to maintain my own live as priority 1, there are some things i need to be cleared and done before i can fokus on something new.

Dave if you read this, hope you get healthy soon again!

EDIT:
This said, someone who uses his package, please share a summarized list of what needs to be done/fixed/added.
I'm not using it, so i dont know whats broken

What do you mean it's gone? I just downloaded Autoplus from it just a few minutes ago. It sure worked for me.

Interesting. It's still working fine here. I can go to any page on the site without a problem. Probably the DNS changes to take the site down just haven''t propagated here yet.

Yep.. down now. so it probably was a delay in the DNS changes. I don't have the IP address, but bet it's still up if you had it.

I had no need for the script personally but I know others will really miss it.

Re: Autoplus to help install codecs, flash etc...

Hi. In the past I tried to contact dangermouse to propose merging of Autoplus with Fedora Utils. But I didn't get any response, most probably due to his health problems he wasn't able to reply.

Since Autoplus will no longer be maintained, and there seems to be no way to contact dangermouse, I will merge Autoplus features to Fedora Utils anyway.

So the Autoplus features currently not present in Fedora utils are needed to be written as Fedora Utils plugins. It will take a while and the merge will complete before the release of Fedora 18.

Anyone interested in helping out is most welcome. You can contribute via GitHub.

Note that the code in the experimental branch doesn't work with current zenity in Fedora 17 or Fedora 18 due to a bug. So you'll have to install a patched version of zenity for now.

Re: Autoplus to help install codecs, flash etc...

Autoplus, was the father of PostInstallerF. Based on ease of use.

PostInstallerF is made under the inspiration of Autoplus, there are many ideas that have in mind to implement.

Hopefully we answer Autoplus developer. And to know what happened to the project.

We know what happened. He had health issues and was not able to continue development due to lack of time and funds

Re: Autoplus to help install codecs, flash etc...

thanks @ajamison
This is very sad , hopefully back to health, the monetary problem and time is a key factor in the continuation of a project, I think if he is reading this would be good to use sites such as SourceForge, Google Code and prevent unreasonable charges. If the health problem is very serious, we should unite and donate something for your health recovery eg via paypal.

Re: Autoplus to help install codecs, flash etc...

Sadly, I have been unable to contact Dave as well. Therefore, the link has been removed from the setup guides, and I'm closing this thread until we know more.
