I'm using the F9 testing script, and I installed flash without a hitch, but there's no sound for flash videos.
Second, the DVD/codecs package won't install at all--I get an error message saying "Dvd playback etc, was not installed correctly, please check you have an active internet connection." I've attached the terminal output in case that'll help.
Thanks again for putting this together. Hope it gets fixed soon.

Hi thank you for pointing that out, it is due xine conflicting again ,it seems you have to remove xine-lib for xine-lib-extras-nonfree to install, i thought they fixed that problem ages ago, i will adjust the script to allow for this, give it an hour from this post and it should be corrected by then.
Sorry for any problems its caused.

Hi to all,
as you can see the f9 script is available, i do not recommend anyone using the nvidia and ati drivers yet unless you know what you are doing, as there seems to be major problems etc...
Excluding the nividia and ati drivers the script has been tested multiple times, however if you do find problems with the script
please let me know asp,
Regards to all
Dave

Appologies to everyone trying to get the script but my site is really struggling to keep up with demand, hopefully it will get better soon.

Got Fedora 9 today, Broadcom WiFi on HP laptop didn't work (it did with Hardy Heron though, after detecting/installing proprietary driver via wired connection). Got script from Dangermouse tonite... its like magic! First time for Fedora on wireless for me. Many thanks on behalf of all the noob's like myself.

Many thanks
I too have a Broadcom WiFi card. I couldn't get it to work in Fedora 8. I tried several things including using your F8 script, but I probably had it too butchered by then, it would even work with Vista any more.
After doing a clean install of Fedora 9 and running your script it runs like champ! Still doesn't work with vista but I don't care.
One little thing though, installed flash and dvd support with your script, but I can't get VLC or totem to play .flv files. Everything else is great. VLC, totem and gnome-mplayer play DVD's for the three different regions I have tried. Firefox seems to play youtube vidoes perfect. Will your script script allow VLC and totem to play flash video like I could in with the F8 script or do I have a problems elsewhere on my system.
Once again thanks for all the help you have already given me with your scripts!
Todd

Hi Driftwould im glad its working, you should be able to play flv files, however there does seem to be problems, quite a few people can only play avi files with xine (depends on type of avi), totem & vlc wont play them, hopefully they will fix this soon, but for now i dont think you can do much , as updates come along hopefully it should resolve itself.
If there is a particualar flv you want to watch its faily easy to convert to avi with right click here

Hey Dave I examined your script more and found that when you select to install dvd support it does not successfully remove the old standard Fedora shipped totem prior to trying to install the Xine enabled totem from livna.

Hi Andy F9 comes with totem-xine by default there is no need to remove totem as its not installed, if you get what i mean.
