Firefox (gecko) Crash on Flash

Is anyone experiencing random Firefox crashes when loading Flash videos in F8? It complains about gecko crashing. Check out the attachment for a crash report.

I had same problem when i used the rpm or yum from adobe. Instead I downloaded the tar.gz installer and that has worked perfectly. No crashes since.

Well, I downloaded the TAR package from Adobe, ran the installer and entered /usr/lib/firefox-2.0.0.8/ for the installation directory. Too bad the crashes persist. F7 never crashed.

Here's the plugin information from about->plugins:

File name: /usr/lib/firefox-2.0.0.8/plugins/libflashplayer.so
Shockwave Flash 9.0 r48

Very strange. I have F8.test3 upgraded to F8. I installed from the adobe rpm. I haven't seen a crash.

Could someone post a link to a crash-causing flash ?
Also point your browser to this URL
HTML Code:
about:plugins
and this lists the actual plugins the browser sees.

I have nspluginwrapper installed so firefox looks in /usr/lib/mozille/plugins-wrapped and
/usr/lib/firefox-2.0.0.8/plugins-wrapper (yes - even on the 32bit linux).

So my url
HTML Code:
about:plugins
lists this package.
Code:
Shockwave Flash

    File name: nswrapper_32_32.libflashplayer.so
    Shockwave Flash 9.0 r48

MIME Type Description Suffixes Enabled
application/x-shockwave-flash Shockwave Flash swf Yes
application/futuresplash FutureSplash Player spl Yes
Note that *IF* you have nspluginwrapper installed then firefox will ONLY look in the .../plugins-wrapped directories and will NOT look in .../plugins.

To correct the problem either run "mozilla--plugin-config" to create the wrappers OR remove the nspluginwrapper package.

This is also happening on my Fedora 8 (32-bit) system. I can display some Flash applets with-out issue, and others fail. The following one fails consistently on my system: http://www.atomfilms.com/film/battle_hoth.jsp

File name: libflashplayer.so
Shockwave Flash 9.0 r48

I have the same results as mlavalle, and with the same filename & flash version.

Yup, I also am having this same problem. I had problems in F8T3 with the flash-plugin rpm, so I installed from tar. No problems from the tar installation until just recently. Firefox crashes randomly on youtube videos. ( same gecko error ) restarting firefox and choosing restore session works just fine though, you can pick up at the same page you left off and keep going until it crashes again...

Are you (and others getting crashes) using the Flashblock extension? When I had it enabled and clicked on the icon to play the star wars video mentioned below, I got an immediate crash. With it disabled, the video played fine. Although, it still crashed on me once in several tries. There may be other issues at play here.... I'm going to run with Flashblock disabled for awhile and see if my crash count goes down.

Mine is crashing also on flash. The difference is, it locks up my x session. I can't even do ctrl+alt+backspace. I can still move my mouse, but I get no response when I "click" on something. THis is getting frustrating. I guess I should just do my job, and quit surfing.

Lol, firstly, that Star Wars video made me laugh.

But in all seriousness, it didn't crash for me. I crash randomly on YouTube videos
