is it ok to install ALL the mp3 codecs?

In the fedora faq section on MP3:

http://www.fedorafaq.org/#mp3

there's instructions on installing codecs for audacious, rhythmbox and
the kde players. Is there any reason all three can't be installed on
the same Fedora 8 installation? Would one set of codecs interfere
with another? I mostly use rhythmbox but I can see wanting to try
the KDE ones but don't want to break either.

stay with ogg and use a music player that supports it. You will be the better for it in the long run....and you will stay legal.

Using MP3 codecs are not illegal for home users at least that's what the
FAQ said:

Quote:
A: Before I talk about this, you should know: In the United States and some other countries, you may have to pay patent royalties to use MP3 players or encoders. However, for home users, there is no legal problem with MP3 players. (Thanks to Doug McClean for clearing that up for me!)
If you think that's not right, then please send a mail to Max who edits the
FAQ

I use ogg when possible but I want MP3 ability if a web page has a mp3 file on
it since I can't control what they use. Suppose it's a recording of a lecture, speech,
press release or something. I'm not talking about ripping off and listening to mp3 music.
