FC8 x86_64 any ideas?
I get vmlinuz then initrd.img then ready and this install just hangs any one any pointers

Right now I have pulled the plug on my sata drive and installing on just ide hard drive and am now getting to media check things looking good this way upto 38%. This is exactly the issue I have had with FC7 on this machine. Anyone any ideas or is it back to waiting?
It is incredible that FC6 will work fine with sata drive yet both FC7 and FC8 are stuck in the past on the ide only. I am only upset as the sata has an OEM xp on it and if I have to use windows I prefer this to using vista. What a pain I am now downloading i386 version so I will have to try and run FC8 on one of the old machines. So much for progress eh?

Are you upgrading or installing?
If that is a new install what actually happens and are you install x86_64 have you tried i686?

Doing a fresh install. With Sata drive in place it will not install it returns ready part way through initrd.img and just hangs there I am installing no problems to the IDE drive right now.

It just sticks in the throat abit when the older FC6 runs. I will try when I have the other downlaod complete i686. but I believe this is the same old problem in libata not picking up the sata drive. I will continue with the install on this machine just to see if everything else is ok. Before I put it back to how it was.

Well it runs on just the ide drive same as FC7
