the deprecation of nslookup?

as has been stated in a certification book i purchased, as well as several independent websites, nslookup is depreciated.

can anyone confirm an official statement from bind regarding the matter? when will fedora/rhel discontinue nslookup?

is it a safe assumption microsoft will continue to employ nslookup for another 8 years?

deprecated is the word (no i)

and yeah apparently it is, we should all be using dig now. personally i prefer the output format of nslookup, although dig -x is nice for reverse dns lookups.

so you can tell i have a minor in finance, if i were talking about your house, depreciated might mean something. thanks for bringing it to my attention.
