recover lost grub in different hard-D

Hello,
I would like to know if I can restore (how?) the grub.conf in another hard drive.
I can see and mount all my 3 windows partitions across both HD's but I cannot see or mount the second and main Fedora 7 installation in HD1 ...from Fedora 7 in HD2 (backup fedora).

How to mount and another linux partition and if I can make/restore the grub.conf.
I don't know why grub.conf disappeared!!

From recover CD does not work because says there is multiple boot partitions and just tells me to fix it.

I'll appreciate...my goal is to see if I can recover (tons) of data from main Fedora in HD1 if grub.conf cannot be restores.

Boot folder in HD1 is there but grub.conf is not!!!
Thanks

How about unplugging the second drive so that the Restore CD is not confused? IF you need the procedure from there, it's:
1. Boot off the 1st Fedora CD or use the Fedora Rescue CD
2. At the boot prompt type 'linux rescue'
3. The rescue mode will find the fedora installation
4. Type 'chroot /mnt/sysimage' (without quotes)
5. Type 'grub-install /dev/sda' (to install Grub to the MBR of the 1st HD)
6. Restart and you should get the boot menu

Thanks ...with removing second HD works.
At least I can continue with main Fedora 7.
But how about to mount other Linux partitions...my goal is to have two Linux partitions ...on main core to work and another for testings and updates....in a way that both can see each other to interchange data.

And as well with two Xp partitions for similar purposes ..but that is easy ...XP automatically mounts all ...and Linux always can see NTFS ...
so ..for conclusion 4 OS as I do have now but with grub handling all booting options...
IS THAT POSSIBLE?...or I'm stretching too much the rope?

Thanks ....
