Thank you.

OK - last question I think. Is there a program that allows you to tell Fedora where to display itself instead of having to adjust the monitor everytime after booting? I'm always having to shift the display to the right.

Use the monitor's OSD. I never used Linux or Windows monitor adjustment programs.

What I was trying to say is that I AM using the monitors OSD to adjust the screen everytime I switch from XP to F7. I was wondering if F7 had a monitor adjustment system much like other distros.

glad to hear you got those issues solved sorry though never heard of a problem that the monitors osd didnt fix, maybe a graphics driver problem. are your drivers up to date? not really sure though sorry

It's not a graphics driver problem. I have a very old Intel Graphics chipset. When I was using SuSE it allowed you to "move" the desktop so it was centered on the screen without using the monitors OSD. It was a slick program. I really dislike having to adjust the horizontal OSD menu everytime I go from Windows to Fedora. My Monitors OSD is a big hassle and hard to use.

Maybe F7 doesn't have it at all since SuSE had it in KDE...

This sucks. I guess a new monitor with an automatic adjust feature is on the list...

you could try setting the position with xrandr, but I think that is more meant if you have a bigger virtual desktop like in a dual head situation.

I found a solution. Someone mentioned changing resolution so I did from 60 Hz to 85 Hz. screen is now centered. I hope having the Hz up so high doesn't hurt nothing.

As far as ntfs-3g goes - it's installed. How and what do I edit to get the NTFS up and able to read/write to?

Loading times are very hardware specific.
The Intel Celeron was never a powerhouse.
I'm surprised that you get OpenOffice to load that fast, given the small memory footprint that you have.

Reindeer - I just used a stopwatch to time myself opening OO writer. 39.88 seconds flat from menu selection to a usable OO writer prompt.

Nickisgod1 - What is the code I use to view fdisk?

I'm looking for one file and I have 20 windows open. LOL
